Maines Order Selectors

Work day-shift hours and earn between $13 and $20 per hour selecting orders at Maines Paper and Food Service Inc. Once the Selector can achieve the minimum pick rate they will be moved to case pay and will have the opportunity to make between $13 and $20+ per hour. There is no cap.

Responsibilities: Maines Order Selectors are responsible for building customer orders in a timely and accurate fashion. Selectors utilize walkie rider double pallet jacks and wrist worn computers that direct them to the appropriate pick slot in the warehouse. The Selector is responsible for physically lifting each case of product and stacking the product safely onto a pallet. This must be done in a safe, accurate and expedient manner. Selectors must be able to work in three different temperature zones (dry, cooler/35 degrees and freezer/-10 degrees).

Expectations: AtMaines, the number one priority is that our warehouse associates perform their duties in a safe matter at all times. The average case weight is approximately 35 pounds and will get as heavy as 100 pounds plus. A selector will lift 20,000 to 30,000 pounds a day. You will be expected to maintain a minimum average throughput that varies based on temperature zone (dry, cooler, freezer). Throughput is defined as your total cases selected by the total hours worked. An Order Selector will be required to maintain an accuracy standard to insure that the customer receives an accurate order at every delivery.

Shift: Maines selects orders six days per week. A selector will be on a 5 day per week schedule. The shift starts at 7 AM and ends when the last orders are selected (typically between 8 and 12 hours). Start times are subject to change at any time. Overtime and Holiday work is mandatory. Work schedules may change during a holiday week. All warehouse associates will be obligated and trained to work in all temperature zones and may be trained in different jobs.

Compensation: After successfully completing the 12 week probation period selectors are moved to case pay. You do not have to wait for the probation period to end to move to case pay. If you can show that you can hit the minimum throughput and maintain minimum quality & accuracy standards you will be moved to case pay earlier than 90-days. *Potential to earn more than average hourly rate with above average pick rate.
