VOLT has partnered with a globally recognized leader in the engineering and manufacturing of structural steel solutions within the utilities industries to offer this excellent opportunity! The IT Development Analyst will be responsible for systems development of structural design and engineering applications within Unix and Windows environments. Job duties will include all aspects of software development lifecycle from planning, analysis, development, testing and deployment with the client’s custom engineering software.

Job Duties include:

  • Partner with a Business/Systems Analyst to translate business requirements into technical requirements

  • Ability to manage to the most detailed set of requirements to provide biggest impact in advancing business objectives

  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple constituencies to support project and organizational change objectives

  • Ability to engage business sponsors and contribute to their targeted business outcomes

  • Ability to engage developers, business analysts, DBAs and other IT functional roles to ensure productivity and solution quality

  • Ability to create solutions that advance enterprise architectural objectives including an understanding of the dependencies between the layers of the technology stack including compute, data, transactional and analytics.

  • Ability to design solutions for end-user adoption and productivity improvement

  • Project management/work package management

  • Provide direct support for client structural design software modules and processes

Job Skill Requirements:

  • 3+ year’s Fortran F77 in Sun Studio and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 is required

* 3+ year’s C++ Interface development in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 is required*

* 1+ year experience working within a manufacturing industry, preferably within the core process domains of engineering, production, manufacturing, steel fabrication is STRONGLY desired!*

* 1+ year experience with working on legacy code and/or locate source code within a maintenance capacity is required*

  • Complies with the company's guidelines and corporate policies at all times

  • Able to handle multiple projects, define project scope and objectives, assist with project schedules, work with cross-functional project team(s) and adhere to project deadlines, while staying within the approved budgeted parameters accordingly

  • Minimal travel to corporate office or North America manufacturing plants.

  • Bachelor’s degree, computer science or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience in supporting multi-library program development

  • Strong collaboration skills with ability to collect business requirements and interface with the internal and external user community including various levels of management.

  • Effective written communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft office products, including MS-Visio and MS-Project.
