  • Provide communications support to the Global Cellulose Fibers business

  • Partner with business to develop and enhance communications tools, techniques and systems to help drive deliberate and sustainable improvements

  • Assist Senior Communications Manager in developing and executing a business-specific strategic communications plan that contributes directly to achieving the business’ strategic plan, priorities and annual financial goals

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Help manage and support existing employee communication tools, including e-newsletters, printed materials, business webcasts, communication stations and internal site to ensure employee communications are aligned with the organization’s vision, priorities and overall strategy across locations

  • Research and write articles for company’s internal newsletter on a regular basis

  • Develop content, layout and distribute electronic business newsletter

  • Maintain and continuously improve the design and content of business communications intranet site including, but not limited to, business news and information, communication resources, community engagement and recognition

  • Work with communications team in effectively implementing identified communications strategies and projects on an ongoing basis.

  • Develop PowerPoint presentations for business leaders for webcasts, employee meetings, town halls, facility visits and other opportunities.

  • Support the communications teams in writing fact sheets, news releases and community engagement messaging to support the needs of the groups and facilities on an ongoing basis.

  • Work with communications team to support functional and site leaders in developing and delivering effective communication materials on priorities and strategy, as well as programs aimed at improving the organization’s understanding and participation in various cross-functional initiatives including safety, employee engagement, change management, labor relations, diversity and inclusion, development, etc.

  • Support communications teams in responding to crisis situations involving the facilities including, but not limited to, safety incidents, employee relations, labor issues, etc.

  • Interact with all company communications team members to achieve common goals, share information and learn best practices

  • Supporting communications for more than 3,000 employees across corporate headquarters, three regional sales offices, seven dedicated GCF mills, two converting facilities and the GCF Innovation Center

  • Position is located in Memphis, TN and travel is required (approximately 10 percent)

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Four-year college degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field

  • 1-3 years communication work and/or internship experience preferred

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills/experience

  • Ability to interact and build relationships with various levels of the organization in a professional manner

  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and adapt to a changing work environment

  • Strong planning, project management, priority setting and time management skills

  • Strong software capability, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Graphic design and web-based tools experience a plus
