EEG TECHNOLOGIST JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs applicable electroencephalographic (EEG) and related neurodiagnostic (nerve conduction) examinations for patients as directed according to established standards and practices of non-certified technologist. Provides on-call and call back coverage as required. JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Successful completion of EEG or Neurodiagnostic training program. Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the neonate, infant, adult and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates. EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of recent experience or combination of relevant education/experience; EEG Technologist required. Exhibits knowledge of technical skills required to implement patient care and EEG services as demonstrated through practices, placement of electrodes, and recognizing abnormal and technically inadequate results with the neonate, infant, adult and/or geriatric patients. Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively/professionally with hospital staff, patients, family, visitors, and physicians under routine and stressful situations. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Registry eligible to obtain EEG Technologist certification. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged standing, walking, bending; ability to lift/turn/ position/transport patients; ability to lift and transport equipment; wrist and digital dexterity; exposure to infectious agents; visual acuity to perform tests on patients and receive/interpret instructions; heavy work - exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (May be further defined as "with or without assistance.") High school diploma or equivalent is required Registration or Eligible Required 1-2 years experience is required Experience is required
